Laura Couch Polyglot

Today, I had a really special guest on the show. Her name is Laura and she’s a fellow translator and interpreter and a Spanish teacher. She hosts her own show on Youtube and Spotify called Laura Couch Polyglot.

We had a great conversation about learning foreign languages in different ways other than simply studying at school. We discussed methods such as learning through reading the Harry Potter novels or by listening to music and connecting with the lyrics on a more emotional level. We also discussed the comprehensible input method to learn languages and why it is important.

We talked about growing up in multilingual environments such as Catalan and Spanish. We also discussed the academic career and why it is more or less appealing to newcomers.
